Today, we’re excited to announce our newest integration with Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF) to create a new standard for NFT giveaways! ⚡️
Giveaways are one of the best ways for NFT projects to grow their following and add value to their communities.
Historically, NFT contests have been run via bots, forms, and random links. It’s messy, multi-step, and easy for bad actors to try to rig it.
With the number of giveaways growing, we felt compelled to create a new way for NFT projects to host their contests that is simple, easy, and rig-proof.
Chainlink VRF (Verifiable Random Function) is a provably fair and verifiable random number generator (RNG) created by the industry’s leading decentralized oracle network.
By integrating Chainlink VRF, we now have access to a tamper-proof and auditable source of randomness that allows us to fairly and randomly select winners for giveaways on Metalink.
But not only that, Metalink is making it easy for any NFT collection on Metalink to utilize Chainlink VRF to power their own contests.
Normally, in order to leverage the randomness generator, projects need to create their own custom smart contract, but we’ve templated this process so any project can use Chainlink VRF to run giveaways on our platform.
“We’re excited that the Metalink team chose to integrate Chainlink VRF for a secure source of randomness as Metalink hosts a large and growing collection of novel NFTs. Chainlink VRF will help ensure that each giveaway conducted on Metalink is both auditable and tamper-proof, bringing enhanced transparency to its community members.”
Tomasz Wojewoda, Head of Global Sales at Chainlink Labs
Last December, we released ‘Launchpad’—a giveaway feature where we raffle off allowlist spots to some of the most exciting, new NFT collections like Coolman’s Universe, Cool Pets, Deadfrenz, and more on the way.
Our innovation was simplicity. Collectors could visit the Launchpad page and sign-up with one click. No bots or additional verification needed since they were already signed into Metalink.
The Launchpad quickly became one of our most popular features. NFT projects on Metalink started asking us if they could host their own Launchpad-style contests inside their servers.
Our community’s wish is our command. 🎩
We’re excited to be rolling out this feature to our onboarded collections.
Now with our new Chainlink integration, giveaways will not only be easily accessible with one click, but also provably fair.
“We are thrilled to be able to provide our community with a fair and transparent way to enter giveaways and contests via Metalink’s integration of Chainlink VRF. Community safety is a priority for us at Deadfellaz, which is why we are so enthusiastic about the platform Metalink has developed and look forward to the Horde enjoying their dedicated Metalink server.”
Betty, Co-Founder of Deadfellaz
The first collection leveraging Chainlink VRF on Metalink’s platform is Deadfellaz. They will be launching a series of weekly giveaways. The first of which is three pairs of custom designed Nike Air Force Ones by Sekure D, whose work has been featured in the National Gallery of Victoria and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
So whether you’re a collection thats giving away custom sneakers like DeadFellaz or you’re figuring out the best way to divvy up your allowlist spots, your solution is here.
We’re excited to power the future of NFT giveaways with Chainlink VRF! 💫
